Mountain Hardwear needed a way to point out the benefits of their Optic Tent Series at retail, among crowded shelves, piled upon tents from other brands. In most cases, with no wall space for advertising and no floor space in which to set up a tent, the only way for consumers to see tents in most outdoor retailers is to locate a messy 3-ring binder full of tables and charts on a myriad of tents. We used the only space we had: the tent storage sack. By creating a supplemental hangtag and a full color UPO label sewn into the end of the bag, we displayed the appearance and benefits of the tent to consumers. The Optic became one of the brand's top 5 sellers for the Spring 2014 season.
